As Asia grows as an economic force, more brands emerge from the continent and ready-to-wear jewelry and leather goods retailer Varana is one such business.
Backed by former Joseph managing director Marc Forestier, the brand, which is creatively led by graphic designer Sujata Keshavan, is opening its first London flagship on Mayfair’s Dover Street this month.
Varana has harnessed the best of Asia’s artisanal crafts to create a contemporary clothing and accessories label.For the 4,335 sq ft boutique launch, the brand has added in a range of organic skin, hair and body care to the product mix.
In addition to the clothing, bags and accessories, decorative objects such as hand-carved stones and furniture sourced for the store opening are from carefully selected artisan suppliers and are all for sale.
In addition to the merchandise on offer, the brand is keen to showcase the crafts being used and wooden printing blocks and a handloom are in evidence in the store to help the store team tell the story of the product.
