A wholesale Spanish cash and carry, Solera, has opened in Cologne, Germany. The store stocks Spanish products to meet the growing demand from the local restaurant and catering industry.
The 500 sq m store has been created by Masquespacio and is designed to bring a touch of the Med to north-west Germany. The vibrant blue, yellows red and black, used across the interior, including Moorish wall-tiles, strike an Andalucian note. Striped canopies and plant boxes with evergreens reinforce the theme.
The German influence is present with the functional signage and organised merchandise systems and the exterior is also a clean line, simple, two-level building with a dominant black frontage.
Mainstream supermarkets could do worse than take a look at this one.
