Upmarket Cypriot bakers and confectioners New York Sweets have just completed an ambitious brand revamp that sees its flagship store in the Greek Cypriot capital of Nicosia take on a luxury minimalist aesthetic.

The seven-store family owned business looked to design consultants Minas Kosmidis to execute an ambitious brief that rebrands the business taking inspiration from New York’s architecture.

Black marble and glass refrigerated display cases look more like they should be showcasing fine jewellery, rather than sweet treats.

New York Sweets get a luxurious revamp

The 1,290 sq. ft. space on Nikis Avenue features a marble mural of the US city’s iconic skyline as a feature wall and references the grid style layout of the city in the planning and presentation of the store. There is also a new coffee shop and a consultation room for a special occasion and party orders.

A cash desk area is decked out in a walnut veneer while the shop’s freestanding columns and support beams in the ceiling are all painted a pastel pink tone to lighten the store’s atmosphere.
