STUSSY REOPENS IN TORONTO

Surf and skate brand Stussy, has reopened a new flagship store in Toronto after a year of having no presence in the city.

The store, now located in Chinatown, is a shift from the old school streetwear look and feel to more of an urban, hipster feel. Designed by Willo Perron, it has been described as a Japanese depot meets Scandinavia.

The space features a mix of materials from wood, concrete, stainless steel and also channels touches of Dover Street Markets with its temporary wooden greenhouse structures to display the clothing lines.

Of course, there is the obligatory café with Sam James Coffee Bar, which is canteen-style in silver and grey tones. Tubular fluorescent lighting illuminates the store and evergreens hang from the exposed ceiling while ferns are housed in white canvas bags throughout the store

The store was designed to disrupt the traditional street brand market and does a good job in doing so.
