OLIVIER SAYS CHEESE IN MEXICO

French heritage cheese retailer Olivier is looking to expand its global chain of stores and has launched a new look interior concept in Monterrey, Mexico.

Shifting from a heritage-cum-rustic look and feel to a new contemporary, modern and chic store environment, the revamp characterises the branding leap that the new store design embodies for the Olivier business.

The store is in fact designed by Melt Studio, in Monterrey’s San Pedro García neighbourhood, and features cool marble, pale green walls and simple white fixturing.

Central to the space is a cheese-paring and tasting marble counter where customers can talk to knowledgeable staff about the products and hear about provenance – where and how the cheeses have been made and matured. The counter has a white steel frame encasing it, a design that gives a sense of it being its own room within the store space.

Floating block shelving has been painted the same colour as the walls and to create a frame for the product and the shelving, the same white metal framework has been used at intervals along the display wall.
