Premium coffee capsule brand Nespresso has introduced a new boutique concept to the UK in Liverpool One.

The 1,600 sq. ft. store is the third of its kind globally and it aims to amplify the experience element to the store visit in three key ways. The brand lists these as a “sensorial welcome”, “discovery at the atelier table” and the “sustainability and circularity experience”. The latter element speaks to a move by the brand to let customers know the work it is doing to improve its sustainability credentials, having come under fire for the difficulties associated with recycling its coffee pods.

The use of sustainable materials is a focus for the store design with tabletops created from its used coffee grounds and timber taken from Nespresso reforestation projects on icoffee plantations and a store collection service for recycling pods.

Beyond the sustainability story there is the chance to book an interactive class with in-house coffee experts and learn about the brand’s different Grand Cru coffees and their origins.
