Japanese fashion brand N.Hoolywood, has opened its fifth store in Japan, in the southern city of Fukuoka. The brand has opened a store-inside-a store choosing to locate in the PARCO department store. The Japanese label has built a name for itself by showing at New York Fashion Week.
The 1,000 sq ft space provides a lesson on how to create impact in a multi-branded space through sheer simplicity. Basic plywood structure frames with glass partitions are used to claim a space inside the department store as well as to compartmentalise the collections.
It is designed to look like a gallery of clothing with an industrial edge featuring iron clothes hangers, concrete flooring and monotone hues. Display tables with simple ceramic bowls softens the space.
The competition is intense for brands inside department stores however N.Hoolywood effectively manages to make its mark without the need to be loud and proud.
