Canadian outerwear brand Mackage has opened two new stores in Toronto, doubling its portfolio – it already has stores in Montreal and NY. Unlike its competitor Canada Goose, Mackage is going through a home country expansion whereas Canada Goose, now listed, is focussed on international expansion. The brand recently announced its first store planned for London.
The Mackage Toronto stores have again been designed by Burdifilek. To instill a sense of intimacy within the large space, the new concept is designed around the principle of compartmentalization, allowing the store to tell different stories with its ranges.
The colours have been kept very simple with black dominant on the exterior and herringbone flooring within. Splashes of light marble flooring are complemented by the wood coloured walls, but the centrepiece is the iceberg shaped service counter which is punctuated by the ‘mountain’ lightbox on the back wall.
We will await to see if this brands follows Canada Goose and heads overseas.
