GET LOST IN COLOUR

Artist Camille Walala’s exhibit at the Greenwich Now Gallery is all about getting lost in a maze of colour.

What it can tell you about navigation beyond colour, print and pattern may seem lost in the piece too, but there are things to learn from this installation further than the fun it can bring the casual visitor.

Walala’s distinctive work was featured at last year’s London Design Festival on a pedestrian crossing in Shoreditch and will also be part of this year’s event where the artist has created ” Villa Walala”, a house made of PVC and nylon.

This recent piece in Greenwich is called X Play and is an immersive maze that plays with navigation and perspective. Walala throws in mirrored panels to reflect the multi–faceted combinations of print and further bamboozle the navigator.

Created for the space, Walala’s piece follows the lines of the building and is said to also reflect the way the building sits in its landscape. X Play will be at the Greenwich Now Gallery until September 24.
