Dior has opened in the new luxury mall Ginza Six, in Tokyo. The House of Dior joins 240 other premium brands including Celine, Fendi and Saint Laurent.
The five-level store has an impressive street corner presence with a glass facade with white ‘sails’. It has been designed by the brand’s architect of choice, Peter Marino.
Each floor is dedicated to a specific Dior offering including womenswear, homme and maison, as well as a VIP floor. There is also a cafe in collaboration with Pierre Herme.
The building is light-filled and features soft colour hues with light greys, pinks and blues. The Dior Homme, on the lower ground, brings in a more masculine feel with black tones and structured furnishings. Design features also include a floor made of Belgian limestone and black cabochons and wall artwork by Tarick Kiswanson.
With Japan being second only to the US in terms of the value of the personal luxury market and with the upcoming 2020 Olympics, luxury flagships in Tokyo are on the rise.
