British jeweller David Morris has opened its first store outside the UK on the Rue St Honoré in Paris in collaboration with fine furniture designer Eugene Brunelle.

Located amongst fashion boutiques on the busy eastern end of the street, the new flagship trades across three floors and has been fitted throughout with fine furniture, fixtures and cabinetry, all designed by Brunelle.

The unifying effect of having one eye on the interior is clear as by the quality of the materials used which include walnut consoles, alabaster doors, and gold infused copper vitrines.

A stone staircase with an inlaid alabaster handrail connects all three floors. This wonderfully sets off the alabaster finishes across the space, including the floor-to-ceiling doors on the ground floor, which are edged in cut rock crystal.

Rose tinted copper plating is used to frame some of the jewellery cases and mirrors, giving a warm finish and this, juxtaposed against pale wood furnishings, speaks to a thoroughly modern aesthetic that still pays its dues to the glamourous interiors of the 1920s and 1930s.
