Iconic motorcycle brand Belstaff has opened its first Tokyo flagship store in the new Ginza 6 shopping mall.
The 4,700 sq ft store follows a launch into the Japanese market last year via spaces in Matsuzakaya Nagoya, Isetan Tokyo and Kobe. It is Belstaff’s second biggest store in Asia after Macau.
To coincide with the opening, the brand has an exhibition running at the city’s Daikanyama Tsutaya bookstore called “Hollywood Legends” celebrating the use of the Belstaff jacket in movies.
The space is the first time the womenswear collection is showcased in the market and features special products such as the ranges co-designed by the brand’s global ambassador, the film actress Liv Tyler, who was on hand for the opening. A one-off Ginza capsule range, featuring lighter weight fabrics together with a Ginza leather jacket, will be exclusive to the Tokyo store.
The store will also sell a special range of Made in Japan eyewear.
Limestone walls and floors are juxtaposed with black chrome and light coloured wood fixtures while LED lighting and full height glass windows on a corner unit create an open airy feel.
